Pol Belardi, diplomierter Bassist, doch vor allem Multiinstrumentalist, Konzeptionalist und einer von gerade mal etwas über einer halben Million Luxemburgern, gelingt es auch 2017 das Gehör des Konzertgängers mit Modern Jazz zu erobern.

Die vier Musiker der Pol Belardi´s Force scheuen sich nicht ihren großen musikalischen Hintergrund auszuschöpfen, ihre klassische und jazzmusikalische Ausbildung heranzuziehen, einhergehend mit einer ausgeprägten Offenheit für Pop, Rock, Hip-Hop und Elektronische Musik.

Resultat ist ein erfrischender Mix moderner improvisierter Musik, geprägt von    Pol Belardis originalen Kompositionen, getrieben von stetig starkem Groove, exquisiten Harmonien, lyrischen Melodien, dem klugen Einsatz von Takt, Spannung und Zurückhaltung, facettenreichen Launen, einer satten Portion interaktivem Zusammenspiel der Band mit garantiertem Spaß Faktor.

Jérome Klein - piano  -

Born in Luxembourg, Jerome's steps in the world of music began at the age of 6. He began first with the classical piano, followed by classical percussion at the Conservatory of Luxembourg.

After finishing his diploma's in classical music, he got more and more absorbed by Jazz and improvised music, and began focusing on Jazz Vibraphone and Drums. After several years at the Conservatory of Luxembourg, he entered the Jazz-section of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels where he got his Bachelor in Vibes, Drums and Piano.

There he studied with Eric Legnini, Bruno Castellucci, Guy Cabay, Michel Hatzigeorgiou, Jean-Louis Rassinfosse, Phil Abraham, Fabrice Alleman, Pirly Zurtstrassen, etc. .. and got Master's Degree in Jazz-Drums at the Koninklijk Conservatorium of Brussels with Teacher's like Stéphane Galland, Lionel Beuvens, Pieter Bast, David Linx, Christophe Wallemme, Peter Hertmans, Martin Gort,.....He also had the oportunity to follow classes by John Riley, Dick Oatts, Luis Bonilla and Justin DiCiocco from the Manhattan School of Music.

In 2009/2010, Jerome was also member of the European Masterclass Bigband under the leading of Peter Herbolzheimer. With the Band, he had the opportunity to perform with names like Benny Golson, Herb Geller, Ack van Rooyen, John Ruocco, Jean-François Prins at several concerts through Germany...

Jerome played in several Jazz-clubs in Belgium, France, Netherlands, Luxembourg and Germany and played festivals like: Jazz à Mâcon, Jazz à Vienne, Comblain Jazz Festival, Jazz à Liège, Jazz Marathon, Gaume Jazz d'Hiver, Like a Jazz Machine Festival (Luxembourg), Blues'n'Jazz Rallye.

Besides collaborations as drummer and pianist for the 'Orchestre National De Jazz Luxembourg', the 'Luxembourg Jazz Orchestra' and the 'Orchestre Philharmonique Luxembourg', he is also currently teaching Drums and Percussion at the Music Schools of the cities of Echternach and Wiltz (Luxembourg).

David Fettmann - saxophone  -

David Fettmann plays alto sax and is the leader of the "David Fettmann 4tet, playing only original compositions. Since 2005, he is "Lead Alto Saxophone Orchestra of Jazz Music in the Air Force led by Stan Laferriere (released in 2007 1 album" Birth of the Band "(record label DJAZ) exit the 2nd album in 2009 "Duke in the Air"). Fettmann is a member of ONJL (National Jazz Orchestra Luxembourg) edited by Gast Waltzing. Guests: Didier Lockwood, George Duke, Paquito D'Rivera (album release in 2006 from WPR Records). He is a member of "Stan Laferriere Tentet (Animation of the evening Django d'Or in November 2007). Fettmann is a member since 2008 of the Paris Jazz Sax "(guest: Daniel Zimmermann) saxophone quintet (Philippe Portejoie, Christopher German, Dominique Mansion, Francois Vernay). And he is a member of the group since 2009 "Dum 8, saxophone quintet (Desassis Pierre, Olivier Bernard, Christopher German, Cyril Dumeaux) and rhythm section led by Cyril Dumeaux.

Riaz Khabirpour, geboren 1979 in Heidelberg,

Mit 14 Jahren geift Riaz Khabirpour zur Gitarre und spielte zunächst vor allem klassische Musik. Später entdeckte er seine Faszination für Jazz und improvisierte Musik.

1999 zog er nach Amsterdam und studierte dort am Conservatorium van Amsterdam Jazz-Gitarre. Er hat dort u.a. Unterricht bei den namhaften Gitarristen Maarten van de Grinten und Jesse van Ruller.

2002 - 2003 war er Mitglied im "Bundesjugendjazzorchester" unter der Leitung von Peter Herbolzheimer.

2003 wurde Riaz zum Master-Studiengang in Amsterdam zugelassen

Dies ermöglichte im Januar 2006 einen Austausch mit dem SUNY Purchase College in New York, wo er ein Semester Unterricht bei John Abercrombie nimmt.

Seit September 2006 lebt Riaz Khabirpour als Gitarrist und Komponist in Köln und ist aktives Mitglied der dortigen Szene. Er spielt u.a. in der "Maxime Bender Group", dem "Jens Böckamp Quartet" und dem Gesangs-Gitarren-Duo "Zweiton" mit Esther Berlansky.

Im Januar 2010 erscheint The Seeker, die Debut CD der "Riaz Khabirpour Band", beim Berliner Label Konnex-Records. Besetzung: Jens Böckamp (Saxofon, Klarinette), Pablo Held (Piano), Paul Wiltgen (Drums), Matthias Nowak (Kontrabass)

Khabirpour,Oli und ich. Im Oktober 2010 findet ein erster öffentlicher Auftritte des zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch namenlosen Trios mit Riaz Khabirpour (g), Oliver Rehmann (dr) und ich - Matthias Akeo Nowak (b) im Zuge der Reihe Real Live Jazz in Köln statt. Als KOi Trio veröffentlicht Mastermind Matthias Akeo Nowak, der sämtliche Stücke auf der CD geschrieben hat, im Januar 2013 die gleichnamige CD Koi Trio beim Label Personality Records. Im September 2014 folgt eine weitere Veröffentlichung, Light Blue beim Kölner Label Float Music, ... "eine klug und lässig herausgespielte Hommage an Thelonious Monk" (Rezension von Hans Bernd Kittlaus veröffentlicht am 1. November 2014 auf www.sound-and-image.de).

Im August 2013 präsentierte Riaz Khabirpour anlässlich des Diplomkonzertes nach zweijährigem Masterstudium für Komposition und Arrangement an der Kölner Musikhochschule bei Professor Joachim Ulrich seine neusten Projekte Das Elftett und das Riaz Khabirpour Sextett in der Loft/Köln. 

Im Oktober 2016 Gründung des "Riaz Khabirpour Quartett". Mit dabei sind Matthew Halpin (sax), Matthias Akeo Nowak (b), Leif Berger (dr)

seit 2008 bis heute ist Riaz Khabirpour maßgeblich an der Programmgestaltung der Reihe Real Live Jazz in Köln Klettenberg beteiligt. 300 Konzerte haben bis Oktober 2016 stattgefunden.
Mit der Konzertfolge "Riaz Khabirpour - Voices" innerhalb der Reihe stellt Khabirpour regelmäßig seine Liebe zur Stimme in der Musik in den Vordergrund. Daran beteiligt waren und werden auch in Zukunft sein: Fillipa Gojo, Eva Buchmann, Tamara Lukasheva, Veronika Morscher sowie Dora Osterloh.
Im Kern bietet die Reihe Real Live Jazz vorwiegend der jungen und weniger jungen Kölner Jazz Szene Auftrittsmöglichkeiten, die das Angebot Sonntag für Sonntag dank Riaz Khabirpour auf einem ausgesprochen hohem musikalischem Niveau nutzt.

From the moment Pol played his first note on an instrument, sometime in the 90's in a small town in Luxembourg called Tétange, his curiosity was awakened to create music. After extensive tutelage at local schools in classical percussion, piano, drums and theory, a fair amount of classical orchestra as well as rock band experience and a good first imprint in the local scene, he set sails to study in Brussels and Amsterdam, earning a master's degree "cum laude" in bass guitar in 2014. He has forged himself a strong credo consisting of two main ingredients: polyvalence and creativity.

His numerous projects vary in both conception of style and the instrument(s) he plays, and since the first childhood composition try-outs (which were mainly transcribing and rearranging video-game music), he has grown to a prolific composer who is not afraid of taking advantage of his diverse musical background. Now back in Luxembourg, in the heart of Europe, Pol leads his own bands Force (a modern jazz quartet/quintet) and Urban Voyage, an 11-piece crossover mammoth project based in Amsterdam. In addition to that, he is a member of DillenDub, a co-lead electro-groove-jazz trio.

He is also a welcomed sideman on the bass guitar for Pascal Schumacher, MetroMara (DE), Little Known Facts (NL) as well as on the vibraphone for Nelson Ogliastri's Birth and Death of a Star and many other projects. Willing to share his experience with studious young music lovers, Pol is teaching in local music schools, and to keep up to date on what is happening in an around Luxembourg, he regularly hosts a radio show at Radio 100,7 FM.

Born in one of the smallest countries in Europe (Luxembourg), drummer/percussionist Niels Engel (03/07/1987) grew up in a family where music had its tradition over more generations. His musical career started at the Conservatory of Esch-sur-Alzette (Lu) where he studied mainly classical music (clarinet, classic percussion, solfeggio, classic harmony, chamber music, orchestral playing, brass band).

After some years, he got more and more into jazz music and especially into drums. At the age of 16, he got his first drum lesson in the same conservatory and few months later he won the "Young European Soloist Competition" in Luxembourg and became one of the last 20 finalists of the "European Drummer Competition" in Germany.

At the age of 18, he finished his degree in drums (1prix) from the Conservatory of Eschsur-Alzette. A year later, he got accepted as a full-time bachelor student for jazz drums at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague (NL) where he studied with Joost Patocka, Stefan Kruger, Frits Landesbergen and Erik Ineke.

In 2009 he moved to Amsterdam to finish his bachelor's degree with Marcel Serierse and Martijn Vink at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. In 2010 he won prestigious competitions as a sideman such as the "Prinses Christina Concours" and the "Grote Prijs van Nederland".

He is worked as a percussionist at the Luxembourg Military Band. Over the years, he was working/playing with great musicians such as Peter Beets, Joe Fonda, Archie Lee Hooker, John Ruocco, Jesse van Ruller, Jasper Blom, Ack van Rooyen, Frans vd Hoeven, Ben van Gelder, Harvie S, etc..
