Cindy Scott hat eine warme, sexy Stimme, in der man ohne weiteres den Einfluss so bekannter Jazzkünstlerinnen wie Sarah Vaughn und Karrin Allyson hören kann, mit einem Hauch Ricki Lee Jones vermischt. Von Song zu Song swingt sie entweder mit Leidenschaft oder schwebt träumerisch daher. Scott's Liebe zum Jazz kommt in jedem Aspekt ihrer Performance zum Vorschein und ist einer der Gründe, warum ihre Zuhörer sie so verehren.

Cindy Scott absolvierte ihren Master in Jazz Studies  2007 an der Universität von New Orleans, an welcher sie derzeitig als Direktorin des Programms Jazz Voices lehrt.

Neben regelmäßigen Auftritten in ihrer Wahlheimat New Orleans führte sie im Jahr 2010 die Veröffentlichung ihrer zweiten CD “Let the Devil Take Tomorrow” nach Mexico City, New York, Los Angeles, Houston, Philadelphia und San Francisco.

Die nach ihrem Debütalbum „Major to Minor“ zweite CD „Let the Devil Take Tomorrow” wurde zu New Orleans´ bestem zeitgenössischem Jazzalbum des Jahres 2010 gewählt und im Offbeat Magazin als eine der Top 40 Veröffentlichung in Louisiana mit dem Kommentar „this CD is a triumph“ gelistet.

Begleitet wird Cindy Scott an diesem Abend von dem Brian Seeger Organic Trio (siehe Archiv 2011 November/06 ABS).

Cindy Scott is recognized in the vocal community as a singer's singer. Her technical mastery and deep commitment to the lyric and musical expression has earned her loyal fans around the world. Originally hailing from Tupelo, Mississippi, Cindy Scott has lived a life steeped in all forms of American roots music, jazz, gospel, and southern soul. She came up in an extended family full of talented musicians and passionate educators, and was singing parts at the family jams at the age of 2. Cindy also plays flute, bamboo flute, guitar and hand percussion, and is a composer and lyricist.

Scott has released three CDs under her own name, and has a fourth one coming out later this year. Her most recent release`Historia´, featured a slew of Grammy nominated artists, including Karrin Allyson, Jamison Ross and Randy Porter, and inspired Jazz Times to name her one of the top 10 jazz vocalists of the year.

Her previous release`Let the Devil Take Tomorrow´ won an OffBeat award for best Jazz release in Louisiana. Cindy performance schedule has included dates in Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Morocco, Switzerland, Turkey and all across the US.

Concurrent with her performance and recording activities, Cindy is an Associate Professor of Voice at the esteemed Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Der in New Orleans, Louisiana, lebende Gitarrist und Komponist Brian Seeger steht für eine spezielle Mischung aus Soul Jazz und Urban Americana. Seeger präsentiert neue Musik, die von den Klängen seiner Heimatstadt durchdrungen und der Tradition von Hammondspielern wie Dr. Lonnie Smith und Big John Patton (die Seeger beide schon begleiten durfte) verpflichtet ist.

Brian ist ein wesentlicher Bestandteil der noch immer dynamischen Jazzgemeinschaft von New Orleans. Seine flüssige und reiche Note, sowie seine tiefgründigen melodischen Improvisationen, haben seinen Ruf als „einer der besten Jazzgitarristen von New Orleans“ in den dort ansässigen Musikmedien gefestigt. Die Liste seiner Studio- und Livekollaborationen beinhaltet die Namen von Aaron Neville, Charlie Hunter, Big John Patton, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Chris Wood, Jason Marsalis, Davell Crawford, Stanton Moore, Johnny Vidacovich, John Ellis, Brian Blade, Rebecca Paris, und viele andere.

Obwohl seine musikalischen Exkursionen sehr von gegenwärtigen Jazzpersönlichkeiten wie Gary Burton und Jason Marsalis beeinflusst worden sind, ist Seegers Stil tief im Blues und der amerikanischen Rootsmusik sowie in den Klängen der Straßen von New Orleans verankert. Jean-Yves Jung, geboren 1969 in Frankreich, ist selbstausgebildeter Jazzorganist, -pianist und -komponist. Er spielte abends Konzerte während er tagsüber Physik an der Universität studierte, bis er nach Abschluss seines Studiums den Schritt zum Vollzeitmusiker vollzog.

Er zog nach Paris um Komposition zu studieren und Klavierstunden bei Bojan Zulfikarpaçik zu nehmen. Jean-Yves ist Mitglied des Biréli Lagrène New Quartetts  und hat mit Billy Cobham’s “Higher Ground” sowohl aufgenommen als auch getourt.

Seine Kollaborationen im Studio und auf der Bühne umfassen außerdem Philip Catherine, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Sylvain Luc, Sylvain Beuf, Andre Ceccarelli, The Paris Jazz Big Band, Howard Alden, Steve Ellington, Jimmy Woode, Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, Tony Lakatos, Keith Copeland, Nat Reeves, Christian Escoudé, ... .

Since his arrival in New York City in the fall of 2001, Luxembourg native Paul Wiltgen, has made a name for himself among the local and international music industry as an accomplished jazz percussionist and forward-thinking composer. An artist in the truest sense of the word, Paul has earned acclaim as a musician with a unique balance of aesthetic and passion.

After an extensive classical tutelage at the Music Conservatory in Esch/Alzette (Luxembourg) and at various music workshops throughout the world, he completed both undergraduate and graduate jazz studies at Manhattan School of Music, learning from the likes of John Riley, David Liebman, Samir Chatterjee & Michael Abene.

Becoming a truly pancontinental artist, Paul has appeared alongside such emerging stars as Patrick Cornelius, Michael Janisch, David Binney, Miles Okazaki, Linda Oh, Ambrose Akinmusire, Will Vinson, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Lage Lund, Mike Moreno, Franz von Chossy, Tim Collins, Brian Seeger, Cedric Hanriot, Kristjan Randalu and Pablo Held.

Besides mainly working as a sideman and occasionally leading his own groups, Paul is currently also co-leading the Reis / Demuth / Wiltgen Trio. From 2004 until 2007, he was the leader of a New York band named “The Paislies”, which released its debut album on the Fresh Sound New Talent record label. Paul was also one of the original members of The TransAtlantic Collective, a vivacious contemporary jazz ensemble made up of musicians based in London and New York City.
